Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah, Minister of Health and head of the medical and surgical team that led the separation operation of the Saudi Siamese twins (Abdullah and Salman) has announced the success of the surgery.
According to reports on Al Riyadh newspaper, the operation took place on Friday at King Abdulaziz Medical City of the National Guard in Riyadh. The surgery lasted nearly ten hours.
The Minister of Health praised the doctors who worked intensively to make the operation a success at a press conference held yesterday after the surgery. He also introduced the medical and surgical team members who participated in the operation. A detailed explanation of the procedure was presented.
The twin’s father thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud for his support during this time of trial. Sami Al-Sha’lan, Director of Public Relations at National Guard’s King Abdulaziz Medical City in (KAMC), said the official statement on the twins’ health condition will only be announced after 72 hours post surgery.
