ovary tumorA group of doctors at Hira General Hospital in Makkah successfully removed a tumor weighing more than 10 kg from a woman’s ovary, according to Sabq news.

Under the guidance of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department head, Dr Sultan Baghdadi  and his deputy Dr Maher Khalifa, the surgical team operated on the 72-year-old woman after finding a cancerous growth in her right ovary.

The large tumor was detected when doctors examined the woman after she complained of abdominal pain. An X-ray showed a big growth on the right ovary, and the surgery was soon performed to remove the tumor.

The large tumor measured close to 30 cm and weighed about 10.15 kg. Hospital authorities said that the woman is recovering from the surgery and is in good health.
