A toddler aged a year and half in Saudi narrowly escaped a killing attempt by her 3-year-old brother who was influenced by scenes he had just witnessed at a sheep slaughterhouse.
The boy, aged three, had accompanied his father to the slaughterhouse in the Naseem neighbourhood in the Saudi capital Riyadh where he witnessed how sheep were slaughtered.
Upon returning home, the boy took a knife from the kitchen and stabbed his sister in the chest and neck in imitation of what he had seen at the slaughterhouse.
The toddler who was bleeding profusely was immediately taken to the hospital, where she remains in stable condition. Social media users criticised the father for his lack of common sense and for traumatising a child and causing a tragedy in the family.
