Captain Mohammed Al-Hammadi, the spokesman for Civil Defense in Riyadh informed that 8 firefighting units and 10 other units were necessary to control the fire that had spread in a group of zinc-roof stalls in the market. Rescue and evacuation teams also rushed to the spot. An investigation was launched to find out the cause of the fire.
In yet another incident in the capital city, a fire broke out at a fuel station after a tanker spilled fuel near parked cars. The fire was extinguished with the help of 6 fire-fighting units and 8 backup units. Two injured workers were rushed to the hospital, according to reports. An investigation was initiated to look into the accident.
On Saturday night, another fire broke out in Muzdalifah in the Al Mashaaer Metro workers’ quarters. According to the Makkah Civil Defense spokesman, there were no casualties in the fire that was doused the same night.
