The General Administration of Education in the Eastern Province has launched the first recreational club for girls in the region as part of the King Abdullah Project for Development of Education, according to local media reports.
Weight loss programs and a basketball court are among the various facilities provided at the club that opened at the 22nd Girls’ Secondary Schools in Dammam. Mariam al-Shammari, the club manager, told Al Hayat daily that the capacity of the center is quite small , accomodating only 400 students but they are looking towards more positive changes.
The club also provides treatment to the girls through NLP- the Nervous Language Programming , a series of techniques that enable people to control their nervous system and learn how to communicate effectively with others. An awareness program that focuses on obesity has also been added to the club.
