Riyaz bin Kamal Najam, president of the General Authority for Audio and Visual Media, said that the women in Saudi have expectations that the channel will showcase Saudi culture and traditions. Najam added that the channel would help clear stereotyping of Saudi.
The channel will serve as a platform for Saudi women to showcase their talent and capabilities but also help clear misconceptions about Arab women. According to the owner of the channel, Sheikh Yusuf bin Awad Al-Ahmadi, the problems faced by women, particularly by Saudi women, would be brought to the fore for the world to see. He added that the channel would also aid in presenting the true image of Muslim women. Al-Ahmadi said, “The channel will fully conform with Islamic laws and help raise awareness among women.”
The channel plans to telecast programs about intellectual, scientific, cultural, political, social, psychological, economic, technical, administrative, educational, and medical fields – all subjects that are relevant in the life of women.
