The Future Investment Initiative (FII) 2018, dubbed “Davos in the Desert” has kicked off in Riyadh today, under the patronage of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The three-day event is seeking to explore and develop new opportunities that would shape the future of investment in the world, and showcase Saudi Arabia as a lucrative business destination. The kingdom is seeking to lessen its dependence on oil revenues and set the stage for new ventures and multibillion-dollar contracts.
The 2018 edition will welcome 120 speakers representing over 140 organizations, 40 sessions, open forums and workshops.
Top Riyadh hotels like The Ritz-Carlton, Crown Plaza, Fraser Suites Riyadh and Hyatt Regency Riyadh-Olaya are reportedly fully booked as the Saudi Future Investment Initiative begins, indicating a heavy attendance at the conference.
