A dam in Bisha, located in the Asir province of Saudi Arabia collapsed due to heavy rainfall.

The dam was temporarily built by the Ministry of Water and Electricity to protect another dam which is still under construction. Rescue teams, ambulances and security patrols evacuated 4 surrounding villages as precautionary measures.

Media spokesman for the Civil Defense in Asir region, Colonel Mohammed Abdul Rahim Al-Asimi said that no deaths, injuries or missing persons were reported.

The dam measures 10 meters high and 180 meters wide. The water from the dam, which collapsed partially, continues to overflow into some streets and residential areas in Bisha.

Interior ministry aircafts are continuously monitoring the region in search of people who may require any assistance.
