indonesian killed

One woman was killed in a stampede on Sunday when a  group of 12,000 Indonesian workers set fire to the Indonesian consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia after waiting for hours to correct their residency status.

The rioting mob of angry Indonesian expatriates set fire to wood and furniture at the entrance of the  Indonesian consulate in Jeddah.  The workers were frustrated over long delays and lack of organization at the consulate following hasty attempts by ‘illegals’ to rectify their visa status by the July 3 deadline set by the Saudi government.

The death of a national during the riot was confirmed by the  Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday.
