According to a new list released on Wednesday, “Forbes” magazine has ranked Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz as the most powerful figure in the Arab world and seventh most powerful in the World. The list ranks 71 of the world’s most powerful people.
This is the fourth year in a row that the King has been listed as the most powerful Arab in the world. United States President Barack Obama has been ranked the most powerful man on Earth.
Three other head of states followed Obama include German Chancellor Angela Merkel (2), Russian President Vladimir Putin (3), King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al Saud of Saudi Arabia (7) and British Prime Minister David Cameron at no. 10.
King Abdullah governs the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which has approximately 20 percent of the world’s proven oil reserves. The King has been credited with maintaining stability in the kingdom in a time where many surrounding countries were shaken by the Arab Spring wave.
