This move by companies despite a ruling making the approval not mandatory is mainly to protect women’s rights and to prevent employers from exploiting women. Women are usually not assertive about their financial rights.
The Ministry of labor also considers it to be the private sector companies’ right to seek the approvals of women working in sales positions where they directly interact with customers. The source in the ministry said that employers should ensure that their female employees have guarantors, especially for those who specialize in ticket sales. Employers can then hold the male guardians responsible for any breach of trust by woman employees.
