smallcopterIn an unfortunate incident, a teen died near a parkway in Brooklyn, New York following a head injury caused by a remote control helicopter.

Roman Pirozek Jr, 19, was flying the remote control helicopter in Calvert Vaux Park, Brooklyn on Thursday afternoon when the helicopter struck his head. A severe head injury caused by the accident killed the young man.

Seaview Rotary Wings Helicopter Club organizes helicopter flights in the Brooklyn park. The boy’s father is the vice president of the club. Hobbyists are allowed to fly model aircrafts in Calvert Vaux Park in a special area that is designated for the activity.

The teen’s death on Thursday is the second death caused by a remote-controlled helicopter that was reported in America, according to a spokesman for the Academy of Model Aeronautics.
