Field officers of the Riyadh Municipality busted more than 75 workers violating health regulations during an inspection in restaurants, cafeterias, and non-Saudi street vendors in various districts in the Saudi capital.
More than 219 facilities were inspected by the field teams. The inspection teams also closed 28 restaurants and buffet restaurants besides other facilities for violating hygiene requirements and general cleanliness inside the kitchens. Additionally, authorities confiscated more than 657 kg of foodstuff that was not fit for human consumption. Over 360 cooking utensils that were unsuitable for cooking were also seized by the officials.
Sabq new reported that a number of non-Saudi street vendors violating regulations were arrested and their merchandise was confiscated. These vendors were made to pledge that they would not reengage in such illegal sales in the streets of Riyadh.
