Saudi businesswoman, Aisha Al Rashid has donated SR 21 million for the construction of an integrated project in Al-Ahsa, such as a new welfare center for orphans, bringing social, cultural, and athletic development under a single umbrella.
According to the President of the Association, the project, known as Shamal, consist of 2 buildings. The resident building will cover an area of 4,500 square meters. The housing unit will have three floors, and each floor will have four apartments complete with rooms, kitchens, and toilets, reported Sabq news. The contributors of the project will sponsor furniture, furnishings, and all necessary appliances.
The second building is the cultural center. It will house a digital library equipped with the latest computers, a lounge for residents and visitors, an entertainment area, and nine meeting rooms. This center will focus on education apart from vocational training in areas such as handicrafts. Outdoor areas will be allotted for sporting activities and for a common garden.
