A Saudi student has developed an application that runs on iOS and Android based smartphones that will help its users locate Saher cameras, the traffic monitoring cameras installed on Saudi roads. Both fixed and mobile cameras can be detected using the new app, according to Sabq news.
The interactive application was launched on Monday. Around 66,000 users registered for the application on the first day itself. The student said that the application could detect Saher cameras across the kingdom. Motorists find this app a boon because they can save themselves from traffic violation fines that are recorded by the automated cameras.
The Saudi developer said that creating the application was a personal project and was not part of any assignment. The application developer, a university student in Saudi Arabia, earlier launched a smartphone app based on flights.
