The sale and distribution of oolong tea, particularly the Chinese brands Wulong and Oolong brands, has been banned by The Saudi Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) after samples were found to contain excessive levels of pesticides.

According to Laboratory results, pesticides such as the Chlorpyrifos, Chlorfenapyr, Diphenylamine and Lambda-cyhalothrin found in oolong samples exceeded tolerable limits.

Oolong is a traditional Chinese tea that is  made by fermenting withered leaves. According t0 Chinese beliefs, the oolong tea is beneficial in reducing and maintaining weight.
