The Custodians of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz held audience with Saudi princes and religious scholars at the Al Salam royal palace six days after the kingdom celebrated its 83rd national day.
Saudi Press Agency released pictures of the king’s meeting with the Crown Prince, Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz and the Grand mufti of Saudi Arabia, Shaikh Abdul Aziz Al Shaikh, along with several religious leaders, government and military officials, and princes.
King Abdullah did not attend the celebratory events held on the Saudi national day, triggering rumors about the aging ruler’s health, reported Gulf News. The 90-year-old monarch has also considerably reduced public appearances. The king ascended to the throne on 1 August 2005 following the death of King Fahd.
