saudi labor minsiterSaudi  Labor Minister, Eng Adel Fakieh, denied rumours that the government intends to to re-extend the grace  period for expatriates to correct their status according to the new regulations.

He pointed out that the three-month period was set by the Royal Decree and that some expatriates were wasting their time by going to their embassies, while others have  lost their legal documents, local newspapers reported.

The granted grace period does not exclude any nationality including the Bangladeshis, Fakieh said.

He added that there were no accurate statistics regarding  expatriates who have appeared at the labor office to correct their status. However the Labor and Interior Ministries will be issuing a statement to the public starting next week and every two weeks after, regarding the number of workers who have  corrected their status.
