Local media reported that a Saudi man was shocked to see 14 fines in the name of King Abdulla when he pressed the wrong number while trying to settle his traffic fines at a payment machine at the kingdom’s traffic police.
Most of the fines involved speeding. Abdullah Duweihan decided to pay the fines for the King instead of resetting the machine.
According to newspapers, King Abdullah, had committed 14 traffic fines worth SR7,800, most involving speed, shot by Saher speed camera system, introduced by the world’s oil superpower a couple of years back to curb reckless driving.
Duweihan said that he was delighted to have had the opportunity to pay the fines , adding that it demonstrates the strong democratic nature of the Monarch ; the law is above all.
