The 23 year old woman who works at a local hotel was required to sign a pledge that she will not repeat the offence. The car was impounded for seven days and the lady was booked for violating the law by driving without a licence.
The case will be reviewed by an interior ministry agency, local daily Al Sharq reported.
Women in Saudi are not allowed to drive even though there is no law that bans the practice. Recent attempts to lift the restrictions have been fiercely resisted by conservatives who see it causing many social and moral problems.
