car service2Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr Tawfiq Al-Rabiah informed that it is not compulsory for car owners to service their vehicles at the service centers of car dealerships.

He explained that the warranty of the vehicle would be valid even if the maintenance of the car is done at a service center that is not affiliated with the car dealership.  In fact, the law does not require that the car maintenance be done at the dealerships, added the minister.

This means that owners can give their vehicle for servicing at any center they want to, and the warranty will not be voided based on the service center, reported Akhbaar24 news.

The minister also encouraged car owners to inform the ministry and file a complaint in case their vehicle warranty is cancelled because their car was service elsewhere. The following is the number to contact the Ministry in this regard: 800-124-1616.
