Guards at a prison in the northwestern town of Ha’il in Saudi Arabia uncovered a cigarette smuggling racket when they found boxes of cigarette concealed in the food sent to the prison, reported Emirates 24/7.
Despite tight security, prisoners of Ha’il prison always had adequate supply of cigarettes. The guards had been wondering where the inmates got the contraband from. So it was by chance that a guard stumbled on the smuggling route – through prison food.
During a routine check, a prison guard felt something hard in the chicken meal that was bound for the prison. On further inspection, the guard discovered cigarette boxes stuffed between pieces of bread and broasted chicken. Police arrested a restaurant employee after finding that he was the one smuggling cigarettes into the prison.
