Empty QuarterSaudi Arabia’s Empty Quarter (Rub al Khali) will soon be home to endangered animals as part of efforts to repair ecological damages due to hunting and development in the area.

The animal reserve will be set in the heart of the Empty Quarter, the largest sand desert in the world. According to Emirates 24/7, the program includes setting up the reserve in a 600 sq km area (about the size of Bahrain), releasing endangered animals such as the Oryx for breeding, and forestation of the area.

This reserve is set to be one of the biggest animal reserves in the Middle East, and Saudi Aramco is will be implementing it.
