A Saudi woman, who has been hunting for a job ever since she graduated 10 years ago, staged a sit-in protest in front of the Civil Services Ministry, reported Saudi Gazette. The young chemistry graduate said the protest was her last resort to get a job due to her dire situation.
Even though she met with Saleh Al-Shuhaib, the Deputy Minister of Civil and showed him her certificates, the minister did not offer a solution. Al-Shuhaib, however, advised the woman to register with the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI). According to the adviser and media supervisor at the minister’s office, Abdul Aziz Al-Khonain, “The best among those candidates who are qualified and are fulfilling terms and conditions for the job will be appointed.”
She said that she really needed a job to support her ailing parents. “Since I am capable and educated, I don’t want to beg for alms,” she said.
