Traffic jams and accidents caused by melted snow on the roads of the north-western region of Saudi Arabia, Tabuk resulted in a large number of tragedies. 8 deaths and 62 injury cases were reported in two days, according to Sabq daily.
A large number of trekkers had arrived during the weekend , resulting in traffic jams. Rescue teams could not make it in time due to traffic jams and lack of communication. Intensive care units in local hospitals were filled.
Rescue efforts initiated by the Red Crescent teams in the area helped people with conditions of bleeding and epilepsy. The King Khaled Hospital and King Fahd Hospital in Tabuk recorded 40 cases including 4 deaths.
