According to a recent study published by Brand Finance, four of the top 10 most valuable brands in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region are from Saudi Arabia, which is more than any other country, reported Arab News.
The list, which is published annually based on brand value, is generally dominated by Emirates and telecom and bank brands. So it was a breakthrough for Almarai, a popular food brand in Saudi, when it became the first brand that is not a bank or telecom brand to figure among the top ten brands.
Saudi Telecom Company (STC), which is third on the list, holds the top spot within the Kingdom. The other Saudi brands that appear on the top-10 list are Mobily (fifth postion), Almarai (sixth postion), and Al-Rajhi Bank (eighth position).
Saudi Arabia and the UAE together represent 29 of the top 50 brands in MENA. These brands comprise 70 percent of the total brand value, which clearly indicates the dominance of the two business centers in the Middle East.
