A teenage   driver in Saudi Arabia , aged 18 years was recently killed while doing illegal stunts in traffic. Apparently he rammed his Hyundai Elantra into a heavy-duty truck.

The incident happened in the outskirts of Riyadh and  was caught on video by an onlooker. The  video shows the Saudi teenager swaying his car sideways at extremely high speed and then losing  control. The car jumps onto the opposite lane with oncoming traffic and crashes into the truck. While the truck driver escaped from any injury, the teenager was killed instantly according to the police.

This form of  reckless stunt-driving is locally known as  “tafheet” or “hajwalah” , where the car is spun around several times at very high speed. Though it is strongly condemned in the Kingdom and a Saudi youth was sentenced to death by beheading for killing two people with this act earlier this year,  it continues to be a popular sport among youngsters in the kingdom.
