A list of countries whose citizens will be granted tourist visas has been specified by Saudi Arabia’s authorities. This will be launched online within the next few weeks, Sabq newspaper reported.
Saudi tourist visas will be issued to citizens of the 25 European states in the Schengen Area, North and South American countries, Japan, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Australia, South Korea and South Africa.
In order to obtain Saudi visa, tourists are required to apply at registered travel agencies, that will handle visa applications on their behalf.
The promotion of tourism in the kingdom is a key component of the Saudi Vision 2030, a plan to diversify the kingdom’s economy and reduce dependence on oil revenues.
