The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been experiencing a dip in temperature since Thursday. Many parts of the kingdom including Makkah received medium to heavy rains. The northern regions, especially Tabuk experienced snowfall, a rare weather phenomenon in the Middle East region.
According to local newspapers, weather forecasts predict that many parts of Saudi Arabia will see a further drop in temperature. The cold weather will further intensify on Monday and Tuesday in the northern, eastern, and central regions of Saudi Arabia. This cold wave is expected to continue till Thursday following cold air currents passing over the kingdom and the rest of the Gulf countries.
Temperature in the North is expected to fall to -5 degree Celsius, while in the central region it is predicted to fall below zero degrees. The public have been cautioned to take measures to overcome the extreme weather.
